I was traveling in Oklahoma this week. I think their state tree is that large orange barrell that redirects traffic in and near construction projects. I wish I had sold them to the state department of transportation because they are everywhere.
I do not remember a time when Oklahoma did not have a high number of road construction projects. It was so complicated in one area that my client had to e-mail detailed directions to her office.
Life is like our roads and highways. Occasionally we are forced to take a detour because of a construction or improvement project. Sometimes, we need step-by-step directions that advise us one block at a time. We have to be patient and flexible. We have to make the necessary adjustments.
Today's Winning Thought: Like I read yesterday, everyone has burnt toast for breakfast now and then. Every day is not going to be an easy drive on a brand new asphalt road.
Your comparison is very sound. People often use the word "road" to symbolize "life." I guess that's how it ought to be. We reconstruct our lives like we reconstruct roads… And most especially, there is always a wrong way that we shouldn't pass through because we might get lost.
